Membership

Who can join?

SASTA was formed to meet the growing professional development demands among professionals working in, or contracted by, local government to deliver community-funded road safety and sustainable transport activities.
 
This usually includes Road Safety Coordinators, Travel Planners, Engineers, Planners and Consultants working for a local, regional or national government.

SASTA also has associate membership available for those professionals who are frequent local government partners in road safety and sustainable transport, e.g. injury prevention, health, Police, government departments, education, business and community groups.

Associate members receive the same benefits as full members except for voting rights at the SASTA Annual General Meeting.

 

What SASTA provides for members

  • Key relationships with Local Government New Zealand, Waka Kotahi/New Zealand Transport Agency, TRAFINZ and the Ministry of Transport, and has input into strategic documents and guidelines.
  • Professional development.
  • Regular newsletters showcase the work of SASTA members.
  • Offer regional representation on the SASTA Executive.
  • Examples of best practice projects.
  • Examples of projects already completed.
  • Submissions to Government.

Annual subscriptions for members are currently $150 + GST, and for associate members, $100 + GST.

Reciprocal membership is for academics, not-for-profit and specialist organisations who are keen to build a reciprocal relationship, and does not confer voting rights, and is $225 + GST.
